Scandinavian lighting tradition

In 1990 the designer Olle Anderson won the nordic design competition ‘New light over Stockholm’. The challenge for the contestants was to design a streetlamp which, besides fine lighting performance, could fit equally well into historic and modern parts of the Swedish capital.

Anderson’s streetlamp Stockholm won and was put into production by ateljé Lyktan in three variants: post, suspended and wall. “I’ve always tried to work within a Scandinavian lighting tradition,” says Olle Anderson. “A tradition which utilises and conveys the light in a functional and pleasant way.”

Two tones, one character

Stockholm features an aluminium body with a broad black outer shade and a vaulted grey inner shade. Finished with flat toughened protective glass, it’s a design that balances durability and distinctive style.

Steady light, multiple outputs

Stockholm comes with standard lumen packages ranging from 1900 to 8000, all equipped with CLO to ensure consistent light levels year after year – no matter the output you choose.

High-performance LED with long lifetime

Ateljé Lyktan’s LED module uses high-power diodes and lenses for excellent street light distribution. Available in 3000K or 4000K, CRI min 80, and equipped with CLO to maintain L100B10 100,000 hours.

Five light distributions for every need

The luminaire is available with five light distributions: from symmetrical LM1 for streets, to asymmetrical LM2–LM4 for roads, pathways and parking lots. Plus a dedicated zebra crossing optic that clearly illuminates crossings to the left or right of the pole.

Second life

New light for a classic

The Stockholm luminaires have been part of our heritage since 1992. Now both the modern Stockholm II and the older Stockholm 590 can be revitalized with our LED kits – updated for urban environments, reducing energy use and extending lifespan.

Smart lighting

Ready for smart control

With a Zhaga socket, the luminaire can integrate sensors that map activity, trigger on demand or respond to dusk – all remotely managed for optimized lighting schedules.
